It's good with the Glads: Atlanta prepares for 4 games over the next 6 days and looks to maintain their 1st place position in the ECHL South Division

The Atlanta Gladiators are playing some very good hockey, and as they get closer to the "3rd period" of the regular season (there are 72 regular season games and to date, they've played 41), there is some rough sledding ahead.

However, the team's overall consistency and focus are integral to their success this season. While they've played 3 fewer games than the team who is closest in pursuit of them for 1st place in the ECHL South Division, the Florida Everblades (44 to 41 in games played), the Glads hold a 1-point edge for the division lead (with a 30-10-1-0 overall record/61 points) as they prepare for a 4-game stretch over the next 6 days (February 11th through February 16th).

They open on the road against a familiar division foe, the Greenville Swamp Rabbits (who sit 5 points out of 4th place in the division), on February 11th (7:05pm EST start at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena) before returning home for 3 games over the weekend, as they'll host the Adirondack Thunder at the Gas South District for a 3-day game series.

After the first game of the series (February 13th at 7:10pm EST), the centerpiece game, the Love on the Ice featuring the Teddy Bear Toss, takes place on Valentine's Day (February 14th at 7:10pm EST). In addition to sharing the love in the air, fans are asked to bring teddy bears so when the Glads score their first goal of the game, fans may freely toss them on the ice (as the team and ice crew collects them to donate to multiple nonprofits across the Metro-Atlanta area).

The series concludes on February 16th for a 1pm EST matinee (as any section/seat is $15), making it a good "getaway" day for fans to catch the team in action.

Speaking of action, we're able to catch up post-practice with defenseman Brendan Less (1 goal/3 assists/4 points/+13 rating). He notes the team's overall consistency as being central to the team's success. Thank to the goaltending tandem of ECHL All-Star T.J. Semptimphelter and Ethan Haiden combined with the team's league-leading defense, they are allowing nearly 2 goals per game (2.10 goals allowed this season). Combined with their opportunistic and evolving offense (3.10 goals scored per game), they are in the mix for the division and postseason play (you may watch our full interview below):

Even with the upcoming schedule, the team's approach and mindset are essential to their success.

This weekend is another opportunity to get it going and get it good with the Glads as they continue with their season and schedule.
