A stop by Bojangles. The Roland Martin show's recent on-location visit takes him to Panola Road and a reminder of the importance of the upcoming elections
In case you haven't heard by now, 2026 is an election year.
There are a number of key races bases on local, state, and national/federal levels. And there are a number of issues at hand which are in need and improved problem solving (click HERE for a recent event via Congressman Hank Johnson) along with how decisions from 2025 are gradually bringing on an adverse impact just in the areas of health, education, and food access (click HERE for our article).
With a number of areas of concern, sometimes, a simple stop is all it takes to pause, take inventory of the information available, and make sound decisions in being a more proactive part of the process, and this past Monday (October 26, 2026 going from 6-8pm), those who stopped by the Bojangles at 2695 Panola Road in the Lithonia/Stonecrest, GA area are able to do so, thanks to the efforts of the Roland Martin Unfiltered Show.

On this day, Martin takes his Roland on the Road tour to Metro-Atlanta. We're able to catch his stop at the venue for a brief moment, but in doing so, seeing the level of community engagement is more than amazing as all seats and any standing room spaces are filled to capacity (including patrons parking across and down the street to be a part of the live broadcast).
Via virtual means (as he interviews Keisha Lance Bottoms and Senator Jon Ossoff among others), we get an opportunity to look in during his time spent with Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens, Keisha Sean Waites (candidate for Insurance Commissioner), Dr. Lydia Powell (candidate of Education Superintendent), and Judge Penny Brown Reynolds (candidate for Secretary of State). All speak to the issues at hand, their platforms, and reminders of ways to remain informed and engaged during this election cycle and beyond.
All emphasize how important and essential it is to vote.
Be it early voting (which concludes on October 30, 2026) or Election Day (November 3, 2026), being a proactive part of the process is integral to any level of change. All noted a non-vote can equate to a vote for something which could be counterproductive (as they express in their full talks with Martin), as sitting on the sidelines is not an option.
Although we are only present for a moment in time, the moment of time emphasizes the importance and relevance of people's presence at the polls and larger levels of community engagement that can lead to potential positive impacts.
In the end, confirmation of being registered to vote is part of it. Knowing where and doing so is another part.
Between now and November 3, 2026, there's an opportunity for as many as possible to hit the road, and one of the stops is at the polls.
