Love is truly in the air on December 14, 2025.
Taking place at the Delta Marriott (Somerset, NJ), Styletainment, the creative and performing arts collective, hosts their 5th annual gala. The event consists of class and elegance synonymous with a black-tie affair, but there's more to the event than the attire.
Complete with a happy hour/networking time which includes of a red carpet experience, the event is essentially a "2-act" play complete with the excellence and effort synonymous with the collective. Thanks to the leadership of its visionary, Missouri (who is a breast cancer survivor) and a tremendous team (some of whom are breast cancer survivors and are committed advocates for those living with and through the health hurdle), the event is full of personal testimonies, empowerment, support, encouragement, and a continued call to action (you may watch our conversation with Timothy Brown, whose mother is one of the women recognized at the event):
Once the networking time concludes, the first "act" includes the awards ceremony. Co-hosted by Veronica Adams-Grimsley (a 2021 awardee) and Andrew Snorton, complimented by a special live performance by artist Gail Campbell, the women who are this year's awardees are celebrated (along with their caretakers, families, and supporters).
This year's awardees include Kyrie Teel, Laura Karmin, Martisa Lovelace, Willie Mae Veasy, Keisha Taylor, Le'Vonia M. Gourgue, and LaToya Battle-Brown. Likewise, a number of the presenters are former award recipients and fellow breast cancer survivors, adding to the presence, passion, and purpose of the evening.
Once the awards portion closes out with words from Hattie Smith (a fellow breast cancer survivor), "act-2" takes place. Complete with a full dinner and silent auction, additional awards are given to Donna Williams (the ADA Award recipient) and Kyra Shane Cherry (the inaugural Women's Legacy Award recipient; recognition is given to men who are taking on caregiver and advocacy roles for those courageously and gracefully fighting through and beyond this health issue (you may watch our conversation with Mrs. Williams below):
Closing out the event is a performance from Styletainment, complete with cultural relevancy blended with contemporary flair and engagement for the sold-out event.
Proceeds from the event support the efforts for #APlaceCalledLove, as it is focusing on providing access to health and related resources for women who are homeless and living with breast cancer.
Love is truly in the air and thanks to Styletainment and their gala, the drive does not conclude at 5 (years), but is a sustained effort through this and related endeavors (the image below is their program complete with additional information):
