A number of great ideas started off small, and when people and entities come together for the greater good, good things can happen.
In our recent conversation with McDonough Moms, what starts off as simply seeing a need and starting off with a meeting with maybe 2 or 3 people to grow to a network of close to 20,000 people shows what persistence and presence can look like when it comes to empowering mothers and their families. By the same token, an inspiration from family experience with their son to a significant degree is the catalyst for a married couple to start their business, Super Soccer Stars of South Atlanta. As a result, their business is making a tremendously positive impact in the lives of children and their families, and with both collaborating on their upcoming inaugural event, there's clear and present potential for making an impact for those in Henry County and the surrounding areas.

The driving and creative force behind McDonough Moms is Ms. Martine Stefanovic. In her family travels which eventually land her in Henry County, she noticed a need within the "mom groups" community, ranging from simply community building, the evolution of having a consistent online presence, and identifying focus areas across the board to be an enhanced resource for growing needs. Combined with a blend of programs and events for people to get connected, what starts off as a simple 3-person meeting in 2019 exponentially grows to a network approaching 20,000 mothers (you may watch the following segment for a point of reference):
By the same token, John and Jasmine Taylor, the owners of Super Soccer Stars of South Atlanta, their business journey is launched nearly 3 years ago (August 2023). Given their experience with their son, their inclusive and holistic approach to sports (via the lenses of teaching, team-building, and other key skill sets) results in their expanding work with different schools and related community programs (you may watch the segment below for a point of reference):
And then, once the 2 entities get a chance to cross-reference with each other, an idea comes to fruition in the form of the inaugural Henry County Summer Camp Expo. The focus is to provide mothers (and families) hands-on access to information for summer camps within the county (and in a few instances, in the Metro-Atlanta area). With the end of the school year a little more than 2 months away, a challenge mothers and families may face is where to send their kids during the summer, especially when it comes to educational and related enrichment programs, as they simply may not know where to start (nor have the time to do extensive research). Taking place on March 28, 2026 from 11am-1pm (2160 Rocky Creek Road in Hampton, GA), those in attendance have the opportunity to meet directly with camps for kids across multiple age groups, along with getting the information they need to plan their summer activity strategy, including getting their children registered and enrolled for camp (you may watch both segments to get an understanding of the event):
An estimated 500 mothers (and families) are registered for the at-capacity event, and there are limited spaces for camp representatives to be a part of the event; however, for those businesses who are interested in serving as a sponsor/supporter along with those who have food trucks, there are opportunities to be a part of the event.

In coming together for a common cause which clearly can lend assistance to families across the board, the upcoming expo is identifying an area of need and putting something constructive in place to help address it. Given the growth in Henry County, a response of this kind and collaboration can truly build and enhance community.
In fact, the respective "life lessons" they share extend beyond the event itself (you may watch the segment to learn more):
Motherly love, a love for family, and a love for community. When these things come together, the potential for making a meaningful impact in the community grows. And March 28th is the by-product of such growth for all.
