#TheLiteracyProject and more

Clearly, Creative Community Solutions, LLC is in the business of providing education-based services to individuals, small groups, and even schools, as we're working with Crim HS (in Atlanta, GA) to provide ACT test prep classes for their juniors and seniors for the October 22, 2016 date and the February 11, 2017 dates (more on this in upcoming weeks). Likewise, we provide press and media services for small businesses and community organizations ranging from the #AlphaDerby (mark your calendars for May 5-7-2016) and Celebrity Host Tyressa Ty.

However, last Saturday is about the need for ALL of us to give back.

On August 20, 2016 between 11am and about 1:15pm, we launched #TheLiteracyProject. It's part birthday celebration (as the owner's big day comes at the end of this month), but mostly means to promote literacy and reading for kids and adults. Be it helping establish such programs or to enhance ones already in place, nearly 100 books are collected and over $100 in gift-cards to make purchases from bookstores takes place.

It's a great start, and it's getting momentum.

This weekend, the Malloy-Jordan Cultural Center in the eastern part of the city of Winston-Salem is "on deck". Located in the city of the owner's alma mater, Wake Forest University, the article in the Chronicle (http://www.wschronicle.com/2016/08/project-celebrate-birthday-involves-reading/ ) shares some essential information about the program.

The response from the literary community and community at large is extremely humbling and overwhelming. The concept is truly taking on a life of its own for the greater good. It's a reminder that we all have the potential to use our platforms for something truly powerful. And that's part of what we do in helping others make it happen, so let's make it happen.
