Where are you?
Where are you located? Where are you going? Where is it?
The question of where is normally associated with location or a destination. Sometimes the destination is your place of business, website, social media, or travel destination. Other times, where can be based on the question of "where do you see yourself" in a certain time-frame.
I for one have, am, and will continue to task that question. There are times I have set timelines and deadlines in order for me to get to a certain destination, be it professional or personal. I'll admit that depending on what the "where" is and the magnitude of it, when I don't get to where I am trying to go, it can be difficult, challenging, frustrating, and disappointing. Sometimes when I'm trying to get where I am going and I'm not quite there or you are trying to equip and empower others to get there and the process is about as smooth as sandpaper, it can be real hurtful and upset your core.
And then you have to think of where you need to go in order to get your mind and spirit right, as well as get back on track. Setbacks, as some may note, are setups for your comeback. Delays in getting to where you go can be a way of you to figure out what adjustments you need to make in order to ultimately get to where you are trying to go.
Some of the people who we work with in education have an idea of where they are going, be it college to getting to a point where they have a handle on what they need to do in order to excel. On the media end, where is identifying the media outlets and strategies that can be utilized to get their event (or themselves) to that next level where they want to go.
And on the personal level? It's about having a sense of balance and fulfillment. Even though there are challenges internal and external, let alone individual and collective that can make you wonder if you are ever going to get there, do not lose sight of where you are trying to go.
Ever. Even if the road is winding or circuitous, do not give up on others or yourself. Focus on what needs to be done be it short, long, or in-between term in order to get to where you are capable of going. It's worth it, they are worth it, and you are worth it.
Get to where you need to go.
