In recent years, there's increased attention on Juneteenth (click HERE for background on the holiday), including its recent status as a national holiday. Across the country, a number of community-centered organizations take time to celebrate, but do so to bring communities together to going beyond just taking the day off and/or celebrating.
On Saturday, June 21st (scheduled start time of 4pm), Kings Raising Kings, Inc. is scheduled to host their event during the holiday weekend (in Marietta, GA at Drop Back Studios located at 123 Powers Ferry Road). We recently spoke with Craig "Gold Knight" Myers (a performing artist in hip-hop via Golden Reset Entertainment), one of the members of the organization's leadership team as he shares aspects of his personal journey along with the organization's focus areas.

Established in Columbia, SC, the organization is gradually expanding its reach to the Metro-Atlanta area. In providing mentorship programs where the personal experiences align with the youth served, they are doing what they can to help others make positive changes across the board. In regards to their event and programming, Myers provides some insight on what is taking place (you may watch the segment below for more information):
On the day of the event, there's a call for support for their indoor/outdoor concept; a call for vendors (including food trucks, art/fashion, health and wellness, and related areas), performing artists across multiple genres (mainly hip-hop and spoken word, dance, and related areas), and volunteers is key for their event to have the desired impact in their community efforts (you may watch the segment below for more information):
Additional information may be obtained by connecting with Mr. Myers by phone (443-943-4180) or email (goldenresetent@yahoo.com) along with contacting Kings Raising Kings, Inc by email (kingsraisingkings25@gmail.com). Fellow board member Terry Jenkins, Jr (803-440-6815) may also be contacted for details on the event.
