Evolve.

Making changes and adjustments is part of the process for any entity, including nonprofits. In taking time to speak with and listen to Anneka Jenkins, the creative leader behind the team of the Show Me Foundation, their ability to adjust is what makes them a positive presence in the local landscape.

A member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc with a 20-plus year track record in marketing and related sales and media, her philanthropic efforts result in the establishment of Show Me Shoes Foundation, as their original programming focuses on donations of new or slightly used shoes, dresses, and professional attire for women. While making an impact in this particular space, once the pandemic hit, things changed.

And in making a change, the foundation is transforming in making an even bigger impact.

With a mindset of being a voice of good in this world, their mission is to show a new way of living a fuller life. Given approaches grounded in community, collective synergy, vibrant traditions, enjoyment, and collaborative efforts, they provide support and positive engagement endeavors in and beyond the community.

Their current campaign, the Show Me Assistance Fund, is an effort to provide support to those in need of essential services. Families in need of assistance with their utility bills and/or rent or mortgage support are eligible to apply for the short-term funding. Anyone who lives in Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, or Rockdale Counties may apply by the deadline of May 31, 2025 (click HERE to learn more and apply).

Being creative in connecting with the community is a key component of the larger mantra of the Show Me Foundation. With this and other programs on the horizon, they are evolving when it comes to problem-addressing and solving.

Time to show 'em.
