A holiday day party that's nice: check out the black ice (hosted by the SEL/Conyers Alphas)
It's December.
It sometimes gets a little colder at this time of year, but on Saturday, December 17th, from 3-7pm EST, the Sigma Eta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc (based in Loganville-Conyers, (GA) is hosting an afternoon affair which is sure to be nice.
They're inviting you to check out the black ice.
The holiday-themed affair is in its 3rd year (with previous editions in 2019 and 2021). It takes place at Sudo Bar and Grill (2270 Salem Road in Conyers, GA) and is not only a way to meet, greet, and connect with members of the chapter, but for members of the Divine 9 (the collective of Black Fraternities and Sororities) as well as the general public to enjoy some holiday cheer and more in a mature (21 and older) and festive setting.
To add to the holiday spirit, a portion of the sales are supporting the chapter's ABC2 campaign. For nearly a decade, this program provides teddy bears and other stuffed animals for the chapter as they visit multiple children's hospitals, including (but not limited to) Hughes-Spalding Children's Hospital and Snellville Pediatrics.
Tickets are available for $25 per person or two for $40. Ticket purchases may be made online (click HERE for the website).
To learn more about the chapter and its community-centered programming, you may visit their website (click HERE) along with their social media (click HERE to visit their Instagram page).
Coming off the fraternity's 116th Founders' Day celebration (as the fraternity is established on December 4, 1906 at Cornell University) and the chapter being named the Georgia District's 2022 chapter of the year, there's bound to be even more positive energy at this event.
This Saturday afternoon, make sure to check out the black ice; it's shaping up as a holiday party that's sure to be nice.
Notes: The photos/snapshots are taken by Andrew Snorton (from 2019 and 2021).
