13 years of providing hope: the Cathy Collins House of Hope and the Hope for the Holidays Give Back

During the holidays, a number of community-centered individuals and collectives are using their time and talents to "give back" to those in the community. And on December 21st (2023) from 12-4pm in Forest Park, GA, a special event is taking place to add to the holiday spirit and provide much needed cheer and positive experiences in the immediate community.

Celebrating their 13th year, the Cathy Collins House of Hope is collaborating with their Giving Group comprised of the Fort Jillian Academy, She Reigns, and the Motherless Daughter Foundation in presenting the Hope for the Holidays Give Back. Along with sponsorship via the City of Forest Park (the location is 803 Forest Parkway in Forest Park, GA 30297), the event is hosted by the city's mayor, Angelyne Butler.

The event includes a toy giveaway, but there's more to the event.

In building on their 2022 campaign where they provide essential items to over 500 families, they are distributing the following items:

  • Clothing.

  • Shoes and socks.

  • Coats, hats, and scarves.

Combined with photo opportunities with Santa, interactive games, and related activities, it's about providing a safe and festive space for youth and adults to partake of some much needed holiday festivities.

It is requested that families register by email at info@thehouseofhope.org (and provide the number of kids, along with their ages and gender) to help with having key items available.

There are volunteer and donation opportunities as well; for related details, readers are encouraged to visit their website (click HERE for more information) and/or call 404-454-3058.

At a time of the year which at times can be a challenge, the Cathy Collins House of Hope is providing just that.

Hope.

The holidays.

And any day.
