Let's do it again: the Georgia Spartans' rematch with the Atlanta Defenders

Last Saturday, the Georgia Spartans survived a scare to their undefeated season with a hard fought 82-79 win (click HERE for the recap). This Saturday, May 1st, they'll face another test in semi-professional basketball via the United Men's Basketball League (#UMBLHoops).

On Saturday, May 1st, at 2:30pm in Stockbridge, GA (Light of the World located at 5883 Highway 155 North), they'll put their 7-0 record to yet another test. The Atlanta Defenders come calling and look to snap the team's unbeaten run.

Earlier in the season, the Spartans earned a 90-69 win thanks to a dominant defensive effort (allowing 32 points in the first half and 37 in the second half). The Defenders are looking to improve their offensive showing, so the "second time around" is shaping up as an intriguing matchup in more ways than one (click HERE for the recap on their previous game).

On top of the action on the court, the game-day atmosphere is just as engaging. With the sounds of Saturday complimented by DJ's, multiple businesses showcasing their products and services (along with supporting the league), and random giveaways, there's something for everyone, ranging from fans of the game and more. And with tickets at $10 per person (children 12 and under are free), it's an accessible way to catch some great basketball in an exciting atmosphere.

Spending part of your Saturday with the Georgia Spartans is still a winning move.

Make the move on May 1st.

  1. Top row (left to right): A solid defensive effort is key to the Georgia Spartans' 90-69 win earlier this season against the Atlanta Defenders. The team's focus and execution are key to their 7-0 season.

  2. Bottom row (left to right): At the line, on offense, and defense, solid team play is central to the team's winning ways. Working together as a unit is another critical factor in the team being the lone unbeaten in #UMBLHoops
