This year, as with any year, is an important year.

With elections on the local, state, and national level, there's a tremendous amount of information to process and sort through along with identifying what may be important to the individual and the larger community and related entities. In taking time to do so, it's about learning more about the candidates and how their previous and current work may translate to something larger and greater for the collective.

We recently spoke with Dr. Takosha Swan on this very topic as she's running for one of the more critical positions on the state level (of Georgia), Lieutenant Governor. In our opening commentary, she takes time to not only share her backstory, but set the stage for our conversation to lead into her platform. Given her life-long legacy of stewardship and outreach via the faith community, her extensive experience as a veteran of our United States Military, and her political experience which includes her appointment to the State Board for Veterans (which provides levels of support for more than 700,000 veterans who live in the State of Georgia), she provides sound context on how her foundation sets the tone for her candidacy (you may watch the segment below for more details):

As we proceed to speak on her platform, Dr. Swan provides context related to the roles and responsibilities of Lieutenant Governor (as some may not have a working idea of what exactly the role entails). She takes time to articulate her campaign theme of Legacy, what it looks like as it relates to essential issues within the state, along with other components of her platform and related position on the issues at hand (you may watch the segment below for more details):

For our concluding segment, as a Republican candidate for Lieutenant Governor, Dr. Swan takes a moment to speak to her party affiliation and her focus on being aligned with the actual principles of the party compared to the people who portray something different. Likewise, she reiterates her statewide experience in her role with the State Board for Veterans as a distinguishing and differentiating attribute compared to others within and outside of her party as a way of connecting with people across the board (you may watch the segment below for related information):

With upcoming community engagements including the upcoming Republican Candidate Forum taking place in South Fulton, GA (you may refer to the flyer below), there are opportunities for the larger community to learn more about her platform along with others who are vying for the position of Lieutenant Governor.

It's an opportunity to lead with Legacy.
