A scintillating way to officially start the summer: the 2nd annual summertime day party via the Iota Zeta Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.
While the temperatures are gradually soaring, the official first day of summer (based on the calendar) is June 21, 2024. However, if you ask any member of the "Iconic" Iota Zeta Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., there's another date which gets the summertime fun up and running, and that would be Saturday, June 22, 2024 (from 1-4pm).
Taking place at The Spot (4975 Flat Shoals Parkway in Decatur, GA), the chapter is hosting their 2nd annual summertime day party. Building off the success of their inaugural affair (in 2023), the event is open to those who are 21 and older.
Featuring networking and engagement opportunities for colleagues across the Divine 9 (the collective of African-American fraternities and sororities) and across the board, it provides a mature and festive setting for the afternoon and weekend.
The ticketed affair is $10 per person, as online purchases are encouraged (click HERE for ticket information).
Building on their chapter's growing community presence and tradition of service and outreach (since their chartering on March 24, 2001) under their sorority's motto of Greater Service, Greater Progress (since their Founders' Day of November 12, 1922 on the campus of Butler University in Indianapolis, IN), the summer is primed for a scintillating start.
And that's what makes the event, related programming, and the start of the summer, iconic.
