#TheLiteracyProject (Chicago) and more.

#TheLiteracyProject in Chicago!

Last Saturday, September 3, 2016, marks the last of the 3 pilot sites of #TheLiteracyProject.

With a focus on providing reading resources for kids (K-12) and adults, the Chicago location is by far the biggest location of the three pilots (Metro-Atlanta/Conyers (GA) and Winston-Salem (NC)). In the historic Bronzeville section of the city, Holy Angels Church and School serve as the site for this part of the city.

It is a solid turnout of residents new and old, as well as different church members donating and purchasing materials. With added help from Afriware Books, they are donating 10% of all of their sales in September to help with the Holy Angels/Chicago site (visit www.afriware.net and enter the code LITERACYPROJECT so they are able to make the donation).

Bringing communities and people together is part of what the project is all about. In making this a quarterly push, our business is behind the focus of "breathing life" into existing programs or breaking ground for new ones. Reading is the bridge for vocabulary, writing, public speaking, and critical thinking; making the investment now surely pays off later.

The next Winston-Salem date is November 19, 2016, and the other cities should have similar dates in November and December. We are proud to team up with The LEAD Foundation and other businesses and community organizations in helping make it happen.

Reach out to us today so we can help you make it happen too.
