Excellence.
It comes in multiple ways, shapes, and forms.
And when it comes to Parkview High School, an example of the excellence synonymous with the school and cluster is the Miss Parkview Pageant. Established in 1976, despite a longer than anticipated hiatus (since 2019), it's returning for the 2025-26 academic year.
In speaking with the program advisor, there's multiple positive components historically as well as leading up to the present day which include, but are not limited to the following (you may read the bullet points and watch the video segment below):
Since the start of the pageant, at least 2,000 women are a part of the program/series.
Nearly $40,000 is raised in support of programming for the Parkview HS PTSA and related programs at the high school.
Day-to-day programming focus on providing a solid foundational skill sets for women ranging from public speaking, community service/outreach, and related professional skills.
A positive "halo effect" stems from enhancement of women's self-image, belief, and confidence.
Prior to the actual event, students who are part of the pageant are doing their share of community service and outreach. A few key events include the Parkview Day Festival (on November 1, 2025) and the upcoming Lilburn Christmas Parade (on December 6, 2025) as ways to engage with the immediate community and beyond (you may watch and listen to the segment below for related information):
As for the actual pageant, it takes place on January 10, 2026 (6pm start time). Ticket sales and sponsorship opportunities for businesses and related entities for the event are forthcoming; more information is available on their Givebacks site along with contacting the Parkview HS PTSA (email at pkvwptsa@gmail.com), the pageant team (missparkviewpageant@gmail.com), as well as administrators Theresa Braddy and/or Carla Hamilton (via the main office at 770-921-2874).
