Spend a little time this Saturday (July 10th) with the Georgia Spartans

It's July; summer is in full swing.

For the Georgia Spartans, their summer is a very active time of the year. While their spring season concluded in May, they are coming off two sound community outreach programs, as it is a key component of the larger work they do (click HERE for a recap).

On Saturday, July 10th, they'll take it to the court for two opportunities for players, as well as fans, to get connected.

From 11am-12:30pm at Light of the World (located at 5883 GA Highway 155 in Stockbridge, GA), players looking to be a part of the semi-pro basketball team's roster are invited to try out. There is a registration fee ($40 in advance and $50 at the door). A collective of coaches and staff are scheduled to be present to help assess prospective additions to the roster. With the team's 2nd place finish in the 2021 United Men's Basketball League season (which concluded in May - click HERE for a recap) and championships in previous seasons, it's an opportunity to play with one of the leading teams in the league and beyond.

For fans of the game, make sure to make it out at 1pm (same venue) as the Georgia Spartans compete against the Fort Benning Yellow Jackets (based out of Columbus, GA). Tickets are $10 per person and provide a similar setting to what fans and the community are drawn to: solid play on the court, vendors, and the soundtrack to their Saturday afternoon via a guest DJ and more (to catch the 2021 season highlights, click HERE to enjoy the playlist).

As the month of July proceeds, so too do the Georgia Spartans with their top-notch balance of game-play and time in the community. This Saturday is another way for fans of the game and community to connect, engage, and have an accessible way to enjoy your afternoon.

Even during the summer, there's nothing like Saturdays with the Georgia Spartans.
