For those who are not able to partake of early voting (as the last day in Georgia is May 15, 2026), there's still "Primary Tuesday" (on May 19, 2026). With a few days for some to take in the bevy of campaign information, there's an underlying theme to pay attention to.

People first.

On the last day of early voting, we have a conversation with Demond Mason, as he currently serves as Newton County Commissioner for District 2. The 2-term public servant is running for re-election, as the aforementioned notion is a clear and present principle in his previous and current work.

The Newton County (GA) resident (and Tulsa, OK native) shares his professional, educational, and civic/community background. This includes not only being present and accounted for in the community, but taking on positions of leadership and larger engagement (you may watch the segment below for more information):

In having an innate ability and desire to be a part of the community, Mason shares his evolution as an expanded public servant. This includes taking time to talk with and listen to those in the community (and at home) along with heeding a larger call to serve (you may watch the segment below for more details):

Having served in this position (winning elections in 2018 and 2022), he shares a portion of his record. In identifying community areas of concern in the most densely population part of Newton County, his work provides a framework for addressing needs and making as positive an impact as possible along with if given the opportunity to serve in this capacity, key areas of focus, especially when it comes to young people (you may watch and learn of a few of his accomplishments while in office via the video below):

There are in-person opportunities prior to Primary Tuesday for the Newton County community to meet, greet, share, exchange, and engage. Likewise, to learn more about his platform and record in office, it is strongly recommended and encouraged for readers to visit his website (you may click HERE to learn more) and related ways to connect with him (you may watch the segment below for more details):

And as noted previously, his focus is simply putting people first, including his concluding statement in sharing his insight given the current landscape and matters beyond the day (you may watch via the segment below):
