As the ECHL regular season approaches its first 1/3 of the season (24 of their 72 regular season games), the Atlanta Gladiators are making their presence felt during the "1st period" of the year. In the ECHL South Division, the Glads are in 2nd place, just 2 points out of the division's top spot (12-4-0-0/24 points).

This week, the team is preparing for their first 3 and 3 of the season (3 games in 3 days). The first two games of the stretch opens on the road with back to back games against the Jacksonville Icemen (9-8-0-0/18 points), a fellow division rival (as the Icemen are in 4th place in the division) this Friday and Saturday (December 5th and 6th as both games start at 7pm EST at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena). The team concludes with a Sunday afternoon game (December 7th at 3:10pm) at home (the Gas South District) for the Max's Holiday Party featuring Sing for Santa themed game. They'll take on the Icemen again to conclude their series against a division rival as both teams look to make upwards moves in the division standings.

In catching up with the team after practice today (December 3, 2025), we enjoy an opportunity to speak with Atlanta forwards Ryan Francis and Alex Young. Francis is a key contributor (2 goals/5 assists/7 points/+5 rating) and Young is the team's co-leader in scoring (7 goals/8 assists/15 points/+10 rating). Both speak to the team's defense and goaltending as their ability to limit to opposition generates opportunities on offense; to date, the team has allowed 29 goals in 16 games, resulting in a goals allowed average of less than 2 goals per game (1.81) and with an offense approaching 3 goals per game (a 2.9 goals scored per game/46 total goals in 16 games), they are competing at a high level and been in the hunt nearly every game (you may watch their interview segments below):
With their dedication to their craft ranging from their standard and creative practice, to a little balance off the ice (as they did have a mini-break over the recent holiday weekend), and their message to the Glads' fans, they are gearing up for the start of their next challenging stretch of games (you may watch their interview segments below):
Upon the conclusion of their 3 and 3, the team hits the road for a 3-game series against the Utah Grizzlies at the Maverik Center (December 10th, 12th, and 13th), making it 6 games over an 8-day stretch (December 5-13, 2025) before returning home for their Marvel Super Hero theme night on December 19th.

As the holidays heat up, the Atlanta Gladiators are looking to do so and more on the ice and their upcoming stretch of games.
