The Glads' gallant effort on Fan Appreciation Night. Atlanta's solid effort is suppressed by the visiting Florida Everblades by a 2-0 score

Preview: Florida Everblades (35-23-7-2, 79 points, 6th place in the Eastern Conference) vs Atlanta Gladiators (21-43-3-1, 46 points, 14th place in the Eastern Conference)

The April 5, 2024 game (7:30pm EST at the Gas South District) is the second of a back-to-back between the Florida Everblades and the Atlanta Gladiators. The Everblades won the first of the two games last night (4-1), so the Glads look to not only even the series, but close out their Fan Appreciation Night Game (their last home game of the regular season) on a high note.

Coming into the game, Florida looks to Joe Pendenza (25 goals, 32 assists, and 57 points) and Oliver Chau (23 goals, 29 assists, and 52 points) to lead the offense and earn a 2-game series sweep on the road. Atlanta counters with leading scorers Jackson Pierson (16 goals, 26 assists, and 42 points) and Reece Vitelli (10 goals, 31 assists, and 41 points) and an energized home crowd to even the series.

Prior to the game, Dylan Calabria joins us to speak to the lessons learned during the season along with keys for putting the team in position for a favorable outcome. Likewise, his message to fans adds to the positive mindset leading into the final home game of the season (you may watch the full interview below):

Game highlights: Despite a solid effort, the Everblades survive with a 2-0 win.

After Atlanta's Mitch Fossier gets the audience energized with his rendition of the National Anthem (yes, he sings), the action gets underway.

The Florida Everblades stake a 1-0 lead in the opening period (11:17) as Sean Josling scores his 19th goal of the season (assists by Bobo Carpenter and Josh Ho-Sang).

The game proceeds to be a defensive battle combined with solid goaltending by both teams' goalies, as neither team can breakthrough.

The Everblades would make it a 2-0 game in the 3rd period. Bobo Carpenter scores his 25th goal of the season at the 12:11 mark (assisted by Zach Uens and Joe Pendenza). Despite a late power play opportunity for the Glads, Florida holds on for a 2-0 win to sweep the 2 game series.

Despite holding Florida scoreless on the power play (0 for 2), the Glads are unable to take advantage of their power play opportunities (0 for 4). Both teams nearly have the same number of shots on goal (Atlanta has a 23-22 edge).

The Glads conclude their season on the road; their last 3 games are against the Greenville Swamp Rabbits (April 12, 2024) and a 2-game end of season series at Jacksonville against the Icemen (April 13th and 14th, 2024).
