Talking, then doing: the inaugural celebrity basketball game & concert (June 12th)

Many have heard the phrase "talk is cheap". However, a simple talk between the Atlanta-based personality Stefanie Batiste and her Houston based colleague, Lady Coco, their love for basketball grows into something more.

While "trash-talking" is part of the game, their friendly debate as to which one has the better skills on the court turns into a treasure. Their combined efforts result in the creation of their inaugural celebrity fundraiser basketball game and concert.

Taking place on June 12th at 12pm (4855 Old National Highway in Atlanta, GA - the zip code is 30337), it's a great way to spend part of your Saturday afternoon. The basketball game is scheduled to tip off at 12:15pm with a blend of local, regional, and national presences across arts and entertainment, it should be a "who's who" when it comes to the game. At halftime, the audience gets a treat as both Batiste and Lady Coco play a "friendly" game of basketball for bragging rights.

However, the action doesn't end there.

The concert includes Cupid as the headliner (of the "Cupid Shuffle"), J Redd, Badd Newz, Ice Buck, Itz Karma, Uncle E, and Poka Jones, providing a blend of hip-hop, r and b, and Southern Soul music to keep the audience in a festive mood. Combine the hosting of Atlanta favorite Siman Baby and DJ's King Arthur and Smitty on the 1's and 2's, it's part game day and day party. With proceeds donated to the American Cancer Society and an area nonprofit who provides resources to homeless veterans, it's clearly a party with a purpose (and this includes the kickoff event on Friday references in the video interview below).

Tickets may be purchased on Eventbrite as well as calling 912-704-4094. Donations may be made from gifting a ticket and more, as it's all about the community.

Basketball, music, and a concert all for a good cause.

Who knew what trash talking could actually do?

In this case, it results in this creative community-centered event.

Take it to the (basketball) court on June 12th.
