Taking it to new heights: the Alphas of Atlanta and the #AlphaDerbyWeekend (May 2-5, 2024) enhances the definition of the Winner's Circle for the community and beyond

From its start in 2015, the Alphas of Atlanta, a 501c3 (nonprofit) entity comprised of members of the Metro-Atlanta graduate chapters of the fraternity, focus on operating in excellence. With a solid array of programs from their "tent event" at the Atlanta Jazz Festival to interrelated programming, its centerpiece event, the #AlphaDerbyWeekend, is among the largest events of its kind in the Southeast and beyond.

Evolving from a 2-day event (2015 and 2016) to a 3-day event accentuated with a Sunday brunch (2017), their Kentucky Derby themed event raised the bar in 2018 (click HERE for details) as their kickoff party and concert is a showcase for classic hip hop and r and b artists. With the advent of their golf tournament in 2021 (which in and of itself is a sold out affair), it is a destination benefit event which ushers in the first weekend of May (as last year, they have their largest attendance on record of nearly 4,000 patrons, 1/3 of whom travel from outside the state of Georgia to be a part of the event).

The 2024 edition looks to build on the success of previous years, starting with the golf tournament on May 3, 2024 at Chapel Hills Golf Course in Douglasville, GA. The sold-out event on the links (as all playing slots are taken/filled) sets the tone for a good day and weekend for fans of the game and beyond. The "startup" and positive vibe continues in the evening for the kickoff party and concert (May 3, 2024 at the Omni Atlanta Hotel). The evening opens with the sounds of DJ Frank Ski on the turntables with his highly regarded "Northern Exposure" set, followed by a live performance featuring the late '90's/early 2000's r and b stylings of Bobby V.

To add to the kickoff event, IHeart Radio favorite DJ SmokeDog concludes the evening to set the stage for the main event the very next day.

On Saturday, May 4th, the Delta Flight Museum is the headlining venue. Complete with an indoor/outdoor vibe, the famous "Best Hat" Contest, appearances from special guests across the public sector, and other special amenities, the energy via top-notch sounds by DJ E-Clazz and DJ J-Smoove, and the elevated atmosphere highlighted by the live broadcast of the "Running of the Roses", it's an afternoon affair full of festivity and flair.

Sunday's concluding affair is the highly popular Sunday brunch. Taking place at the Omni Atlanta (May 5, 2024), the live performances by Kari Epps, the sounds (music) by DJ Genius, and the hosting excellence of Atlanta favorite Chris Cornell add to the positive vibes for the afternoon.

Add the wide array of culinary delights and event-famous bottomless mimosas (for those who are 21 and older), the day provides a stunning and lively conclusion to the weekend.

Proceeds from the event support the nonprofit's efforts in providing mini-grant opportunities for local nonprofits whose endeavors include (but are not limited to) male-mentoring, co-ed leadership development, college tours, scholarship opportunities, and interrelated community-driven initiatives. Given support from title/lead sponsors Volkswagen, Anheuser Busch, Woodford Reserve, Hideoki, and Midas (along with other businesses and related entities), their hope to expand the mini-grant program.

Limited tickers are available for the Friday evening, Saturday afternoon, and Sunday brunch portions of the weekend (click HERE for available ticket options). There are limited branding and related sponsor opportunities for businesses and related entities (click HERE for branding/sponsor opportunities); likewise, there are nearly sold-out travel and accommodation packages available (click HERE for details).

Operating in excellence is a hallmark of the #AlphaDerbyWeekend given its steady growth across the board.

The first weekend of May, it's evident the Alphas of Atlanta are encouraging you to join them in the Winner's Circle for a good event supporting some community causes via the #AlphaDerbyWeekend.

They're clearly taking their event to new heights.
