Cheers to 4 years. #AnElegantEveningOfJazz provides a top-notch music experience in their efforts to support the music genre and the creative and performing arts in Clayton County Public Schools
The arts provide a means of creativity when it comes to thinking and compiling works of impact, including on those who partake of them and the audiences reached.
When it comes to the efforts of Dr. Shenita Connally and her work via #LifeWithShenita, it takes on an even stronger meaning.
This year marks the 10th year of her work via her aforementioned entity, as it provides programming and access to resources for widows and widowers. As an extension from her life experience (of being a widow) and simply heeding the call from the Divine (God), her work via this positive agent of change provides an enriching and empowering presence for all audiences.
And speaking of audience, this year marks the 4th year of her expanding her reach and audience to encompass a love and passion she and her late husband share, and that is through the music and art form of jazz.

Since its launch in 2023, #AnElegantEveningOfJazz is just that and more, as it provides a tremendous experience immersed in the music form. This year's event takes place on October 4, 2026 at Spivey Hall (on the campus of Clayton State University), as the afternoon begins with a VIP reception (3pm) and general reception (4pm), as the Jonesboro High School Jazz Ensemble provides the early soundtrack for Sunday afternoon.
At 5pm, the main concert begins, as it features the artistry and excellence of features artists Robin Latimore (the vocalist is returning due to popular demand), Lori Williams (a fellow vocalist who is also returning due to popular demand), along with Ragan Whiteside (flautist/flute) and Antonio Allen (saxophonist). Their presence accentuates the nature of the after-7 attired event in one of the truly special venues in Metro-Atlanta.
A portion of the proceeds from the event support the efforts of the Jonesboro High School music program, as as their band is scheduled to perform in the Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena, CA (the greater Los Angeles area) later this year (click HERE to watch the interview on ATL Live via Atlanta News First).
