Family Food Fest Atlanta - a virtual way to enjoy Father's Day
Since 2015, Family Food Fest Atlanta is a key staple in the city, especially when it comes to celebrating Father's Day. With a wide array of cooks, caterers, restaurants, and men who have a love and passion for cooking, the event provides a good way to spend the day, as well as support a number of charities, including Atlanta Culinary Charities, a nonprofit which provides culinary and related programming.
With the "now-normal" due to COVID-19, this year's edition is different than in previous years. On Sunday, June 21st, from 3-4:30pm EST, all are welcome to participate from the comfort of home, as it's a virtual (yes, VIRTUAL) event for 2020.
Egypt Sherrod is serving as this year's hostess/MC. One of the Network Journal's 40 Under 40 selections, her work with highly rated Egypt Sherrod Real Estate Group has her as a key reference in home buying, resulting in appearances on The Today Show (NBC), CNBC, Fox, CNN, and HLN among other outlets. Her presence adds a definitive style and flair associated with this event. Professional chef Jarvis Talley is one of the featured participants for this year, and his Seafood Lover's Delight Mac & Cheese is a favorite selection that is among the featured segments for the event. Other featured plates include Chef Raul Thomas with his Raul's Food Truck Island Burger, Johnnie Winston III's Famous Spinach Dip, and Stepp Stewart's Sashimi Summer Salad; as an added feature, all of the featured dishes include their respective recipes, so viewers can actually cook along with them.
And if the featured selections aren't enough, there's another key part of this year's (and previous year's) event, the musical performances. Singer-songwriter, actress, television personality, and author Chante` Moore is one of the featured guest performers for this Sunday; urban contemporary gospel artist Y'Anna Crawley is another of the scheduled guest performers, and DJ Fadelf provides the soundtrack for this Sunday to help keep the party going (click HERE for a complete listing).
Another important part of the event is the lineup of honorary chairs. Marvin Arrington (Fulton County Commissioner District 5), Maurice Baker (Manager of Community Relations for Georgia Natural Gas), Michael Julian Bond (Atlanta City Councilman), Katie Harris (State Farm Agent), Clyde Hill, Jr, ChFC (State Farm Agent), Commissioner Bruce Holmes (Henry County Commissioner District 5), Lem Howard (State Farm Agent), Nancy Flake Johnson (President and CEO of the Urban League of Greater Atlanta), Cedric Taylor, CLU (State Farm Agent), and the Reverend Dr Byron Thomas (the pastor of Ben Hill United Methodist Church) provide a stellar honorary lineup and presence (click HERE for a complete listing).
State Farm Insurance, American Signature Furniture, Georgia Natural Gas, Kroger, Delta Community Credit Union, and community partner Communities in Schools (Georgia) are among the sponsors for Sunday's event (click HERE for a complete listing).
To enjoy the virtual festivities, all may watch on Facebook Live and YouTube Live (click HERE for viewing/virtual details). For related details leading up to Sunday, you may contact them at their website, contact phone number, email, and social media (click HERE for contact details).
If you are looking for a creative and accessible Father's Day event, look no further than one that is a staple in the Atlanta scene.
Virtually, Family Food Festival Atlanta.
