More than just a rose. EmoryRose Photography

Some may be familiar with the saying, "A rose is still a rose. A flower is still a flower".

And while the late Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, made this into a song, there's a metro-Atlanta artist of a different sort who helps make the magic happen. Via the lens of photography and across different mediums, EmoryRose Photography is just that and more.

Under the vision of Dedra Walker, her work includes traditional portraits, still-photography, sporting events, concerts, and even lands in a national publication.

"It evolves from a casual interest to a passion, and now a business", Walker notes.

With a name inspired by the names of her children, one of her key areas of focus is capturing those special moments of children of all ages, along with their families. Engagement photography is another specialty area for the business recently recognized as a finalist for the "fan favorite" category for the Gwinnett County Chamber of Commerce Pinnacle Small Business Awards and the Gwinnett County Chamber Moxie Awards.

And there's more in her portfolio.

Her ability to bring life to her coverage of sports-related event and concerts, book-signings and festivals (including the Atlanta African-American Book Festival), make her a growing presence in the industry. Likewise, her photography is featured in the September-October edition of Cigar and Spirits Magazine (for the feature on the Smyrna, GA based Maduro's Cigar Lounge).

Given the wide-range of her portfolio, what is on the horizon for this proverbial "mover and shaker"?

"Autumn is a great time for photography. With the breadth and warmth of the foliage, it's an ideal time for individuals, families, and just about anyone to capture those moments", she suggests.

For October, she is currently running a special on mini photo-shoots for individuals, families, and other related entities. It is recommended to contact her for details via email (at emoryrosephotography@gmail.com - make sure to mention the article). Additional details and albums of her work may be viewed on her website (click HERE to visit her website), along with her social media (Facebook: EmoryRose Photography and Instagram/Twitter @emoryrosephotography).

A picture is worth a thousand words. And a rose is still a rose, unless it comes to photography.

And that is EmoryRose Photography.
