Empowering girls for greatness: the jazz fundraiser hosted by GIRL

Organizations whose focus is on the empowerment of young people are ones whose efforts need to be encouraged as fully as possible. Knowing how important our young people are and their prospective roles in being the professional, civic, and inter-related figures of importance they can and are capable of being, support is essential.

When it comes to working with young women in the "DMV" (DC/Maryland/Virginia area), one organization who is making its push to do so is GIRL, Inc. (Girls Inspired and Ready to Lead, Inc.). Under the vision and leadership of Danielle Blunt Craddock, along with a leadership team of professionals and students (click HERE to view), their efforts are wide-reaching. With programs designed to introduce students to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), camps, career conferences, worksite field trips, and others, their focus and commitment to young people is beyond compare.

And this includes their upcoming fundraiser. Taking place on June 9th from 11am-2pm at the Carlyle Club (2050 Ballenger Ave in Alexandria, VA), the jazz-themed event provides an intimate engagement opportunity with students, the board, and greater community.

A 3-course lunch, red carpet entry, silent auction, and jewelry trunk show are among the key components of the event. Combined with live music and more (Kendra Scott), it provides a wonderful way to spend the second Saturday (afternoon) of the month (of June).

Tickets are available for $50 per person, and there are sponsorship and donation opportunities available (click HERE for details).

Empowering and preparing today's girls for tomorrow is at the center of all of their programs and events.

On June 9th, the greater DMV community has an opportunity to do the same.
